Who Is Chance?

Chance (they/them) is a queer, gender-nonconforming audio engineer and producer, a multi-media sound artist, a punk-rocker (see LUNCH), an electro-pop bad boy
(see V8Boy), an enthusiast for the collective (see Sound Museum Collective). They have been working professionally as a sound engineer on Lenapehoking (so-called Philadelphia) since 2017, spending time at Headroom Studios and Miner Street Studios.

Chance is committed to demystifying audio technology, particularly for folks who have struggled to gain access to this knowledge due to systemic discrimination and gatekeeping.
They have volunteered with Girls Rock Philly, are a founding member of
Sound Museum Collective, and have also taught with Beyond The Bars.

& Beyond the liberation of information, Chance is interested in music as the playground for exploring new identities and building new worlds. How can we push the fabricated boundaries of genre? How can we release the sonic expectations emblazoned on us by society and follow our own paths towards what we desire to create? What does it mean for something to sound “good”? Is there one right way to write, arrange, produce, record, or mix an album?
No, definitely not.
